Who here loves smoothies? *Raises hand* What’s your favorite smoothie combination?!
PS: One of my go-to smoothie recipes is at the bottom of this page!
I often get asked, “how did you transition to a plant-based diet?” or “what is the best way to transition to a plant-based diet?” Friends, I have the world’s EASIEST answer… SMOOTHIES! (This is SO typical but it really did help us a lot in the beginning)
Maybe you already drink them on the occasion or maybe every day – either way, they are so easy to incorporate and I HIGHLY recommend it.
I mean, you guys… smoothies are like…the gateway drug to plant-based eating. haha

Why smoothies are a great way to transition to a plant-based lifestyle
- High in plant-based nutrition, smoothies are typically made up of mostly (or all) fruits and vegetables so they really pack a punch!
Smoothies are filling and if you make a large enough one (with good plant-based protein powder), you can replace a meal. {breakfast anyone?!}

- They are easy to make on the fly OR prep long in advance.
- They are portable, making it easy for the morning commute, road trip, or trip to the beach.
- Smoothies are sweet and delicious! Yes, even my green smoothies can be sweet and delicious.
- You can HIDE superfoods in your smoothies like ground hemp seeds, flax seeds, chia seed, spirulina, etc.
Not only will smoothies make transitioning to plant-based easier, you will begin to see the benefits of living plant-based by making this small change/addition to your diet.

Get Smoothies Delivered to your Door
Don’t have time to make smoothies yourself? I recently tried this awesome company called Splendid Spoon and they deliver ready-to-drink smoothies right to your door! They are 100% plant-based, made with whole food ingredients, and are perfectly portioned.
The smoothies look similar to those you get at the store but I compared ingredients and these are so much healthier. It’s basically like having someone make them for you fresh right in your own kitchen…except no work for you.

MAKE YOUR OWN SMOOTHIES
If you are on the mission to transition to a more plant-based or a COMPLETE plant-based diet, smoothies are a great place to start. (And a great staple to have in your diet)
Here is a recipe that we love and that can be easily customized.
Pineapple Mango Bliss Smoothie
- 1/2 cup pineapple
- 1 cup mango
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 banana
- spinach or kale (*optional and will turn the smoothie green)
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds, ground hemp seeds, or ground flax seeds *optional
Blend with water or non-dairy milk until you reach your desired consistency.
TIP: I always use frozen fruit because it gives a creamier consistency. It is recommended that you use at minimum frozen mango or frozen banana in this recipe. ♥
I hope you enjoy!
